Both the scales have its own thermometer to measure the temperature. so the relation between Celsius and Fahrenheit says that the 0°C is equal to the 32°F and 100°C is also equal to the 212°F. For example the freezing point of water is 0°C in Celsius scale but 32°F if we measure it in Fahrenheit scale and the boiling point of water is 100°C in Celsius scale but 212°F in Fahrenheit scale. So we can say that,

Freezing point of water in Celsius scale = Freezing point of water in Fahrenheit scale

Boiling Point of water in Celsius scale = Boiling point of water in Fahrenheit scale

On the other hand, we can relate Celsius and Fahrenheit on the basis of temperature. Celsius and Fahrenheit both are the scales to measure the temperature of the body. we can divide Celsius scale into 100 equal parts while Fahrenheit scale into 180 equal parts. so we can make another relation between Celsius and Fahrenheit scales and that relation is given by,

C − 0 = F  − 32

(C − 0)  ∕  100 = (F  − 32)  ∕  180

C  ∕  100 = (F  − 32)  ∕  180

C  ∕  5 = (F  − 32)  ∕  9

    relation between Celsius and Fahrenheit Formula

    Celsius and Fahrenheit formula is generated to the concept of temperature measurement. when we divide a Celsius scale into 100 equal parts and also Fahrenheit scale into 180 equal parts then the Celsius minus zero degree divided by hundred is equal to the Fahrenheit minus thirty two degree divided by 180 equal parts. 

    On the other hand Celsius and Fahrenheit Formula can also be written as Celsius divided by 5 is equal to the Fahrenheit minus 32 degree divided by 9. that is C  ∕  5 = (F  − 32)  ∕  9.

    hence, the relation between Celsius and Fahrenheit Formula is C  ∕  5 = (F  − 32)  ∕  9.

    Proof of relation between Celsius and Fahrenheit

    C − 0 = F  − 32

    (C − 0)  ∕  100 = (F  − 32)  ∕  180

    C  ∕  100 = (F  − 32)  ∕  180

    C  ∕  5 = (F  − 32)  ∕  9

    Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin scales are the all different unit of measuring the temperature. so, as we know that Celsius scale can be divided by 100 equal parts, Fahrenheit scale can be by 180 equal parts on the same way Kelvin scale can also be divided by 100 equal parts because the freezing point of Kelvin scale is 273k and boiling point is 373k. so the relation between Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin sclae is given by,

    C − 0 = F  − 32 = K − 273

    (C − 0)  ∕  100 = (F  − 32)  ∕  180 = (K − 273)  ∕  100

    C  ∕  100 = (F  − 32)  ∕  180 = (K − 273)  ∕  100

    C  ∕  10 = (F  − 32)  ∕  18 = (K − 273)  ∕  10

    C  ∕  5 = (F  − 32)  ∕  9 = (K − 273)  ∕  5

    Hence, the relation between Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin scale Formula is C  ∕  5 = (F  − 32)  ∕  9 = (K − 273)  ∕  5.


    Derivation of relation between Celsius and Fahrenheit scale

    Look at the above picture. you must be seen it in your home. Whenever you and any suffering from fever then your parents use it to measure your body temperature. so this instrument is generally used to measure the temperature of any body or object and it is known as thermometer. A thermometer is nothing but a device which measure the change in temperature of the body. A thermometer not only use in measuring the human body temperature but also it can measure the temperature of food, and other substance.

    So, a thermometer has a verity of uses. now, the question is how we can able to read the temperature of a thermometer. the answer is a thermometer can be read in different scales like Celsius, Fahrenheit or in kelvin. As you can see a thermometer contain a bulb filled with liquid on the bottom. so whenever the temperature changes this bulb liquid also changes. 

    Now, if you observe a thermometer closely then you find a serial number written on the thermometer. the number can be in Celsius scale, in Fahrenheit scale or in Kelvin scale. there are two standard point of the thermometer the one is freezing point and other is Boiling point of the thermometer.

    The freezing point of the thermometer is the temperature where a substance become solid. on the other hand the boiling point if the thermometer is the temperature where s substance start boiling and turns into stream.

    Now, we will talked about the derivation of relation between Celsius and Fahrenheit. As we discuss earlier that a Celsius scale can be divided into 100 equal parts and Fahrenheit scale into 180 parts. so we can say that,

    In Celsius scale foe each degree the length is 1 ∕ 100

    In Fahrenheit scale for each degree the length is 1 ∕  180

    The length of expended mercury in Celsius thermometer is (C − 0)  ∕  100

    The length of expended mercury in Fahrenheit thermometer is  (F  − 32)  ∕  180

    From equating these two expanded vale of Celsius and Fahrenheit scale we get,


    (C − 0)  ∕  100 = (F  − 32)  ∕  180

    C  ∕  100 = (F  − 32)  ∕  180

    C  ∕  5 = (F  − 32)  ∕  9
