Becoming a space scientist is everyone's childhood dream. But after time pass and we grew up. we understand that becoming a space scientist in ISRO is not so easy. we have to study a lot. What is ISRO?

ISRO stands for Indian Space Research Organization. It is the only space research organization company that is owned by Bharat Government. The aim and work of ISRO is that, they provide technology related to space. It is controlled by space communication that is directly linked with Prime Minister of Bharat. The main branch of ISRO is situated in Bangalore Karnataka. In ISRO, there are approx 17000 employee scientist works in which there are many scientists how spent their life in the serve of ISRO. ISRO is established on 1969. But there is a story behind this establishment. Actually ISRO were established in 1962 through the effort of First Prime minister of India that is Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, and some scientist. One of them was Vikram Sarabhai. So that there is a space center named ''Vikram Sarabhai space center''. After the establishment of ISRO. Aryabhatta was the first satellite on which scientist start working after the establishment of ISRO on 19 April 1975. Ater the Aryabhatta, on 7th June 1979 Bharat launched second Satellite and placed on the axis of earth's orbital. Which was Bhaskar.

  • Candidate should have at least one degree among B.E/B tech, B.sc engineering, AMIE.
  • Those students who clear their course in a civil, mechanical, or electrical are eligible for applying in ISRO for become scientist.
  • Students should have at least 65 percent aggregate marks in 4 years.

Age limit for ISRO:-

For getting jobs in ISRO as scientist or engineer, candidate should be under 35 years. Five years of age relaxation are reserved for SC/ST.

  • According to the report of screening or biodata, candidates are being shortlisted.
  • After shortlisting , those students who shortlisted in screening are eligible for written exam.
  • After qualifying written exam, students become eligible for interview. 
  • And at last selected candidates in interview get jobs as scientist or engineer.

Salary and other Benefits:- 

The minimum salary in ISRO is 15600 and maximum is 39100. But apart from salary a candidates get residential and transport benefits. Those candidates who are in ISRO also get medical benefit for their family.

Choosing a space scientist as career option after class 10th or 12th. but there is no any direct way to get into ISRO after class 10th or 12th. if anyone wants to become a space scientist and has a choice to get job in ISRO. They have to study a lot. Basically there is a systematic method of courses that you can pursue after class twelfth. 

What to choose after class 12th

  • Pursue science subject in graduation
  • IIT
  • IISc

There are many jobs and vacancies out every year from ISRO. But if you want to get job in ISRO just after class 12 pcm or pcb. then you have to pursue science subject in graduation. Weather it may be B.sc in mathematics, b.sc in physics, or even b.sc in chemistry. But there are also direct method to get jobs after class 12th board. The method is to crack JEE exam. If you are able to crack JEE exam then you can easily get jobs in ISRO as space scientist or space engineer.

What to study to become a space scientist?

These are the process of studying if you want to become a space scientist in ISRO.
  • First you have to clear your 10th board with minimum of 75% aggregate marks.
  • Second you have to choose science subject in your 12th board. Spacially physics, chemistry and mathematics.
  • Third again you hve to score at leat 75% aggregate percentage in final exam.
  • Fourth if you want to join ISRO as a scientist then go for IIT exam. But if you not want to do iit then do b.sc in physics, and then M.sc or PhD in physics. But this is the long process. Better will be to go with iit after 12th.
  • Fifth if you clear iit entrance called JEE MAINS and Advance exam then after 4 year of b.tech from any government iit college. You will be able to join ISRO as a scientist.
