Relation between temperature and pressure with Graph

relation between temperature and pressure

Temperature and pressure are the two different terms but both have an amazing relationship. before knowing the relation between temperature and pressure we should know the term temperature and pressure. so temperature is defined as the how hot or cold a body is. on the other hand pressure is defined as the force act on a body per unit area. As we know there is a relation between temperature and pressure.

In an isolated system the relation between temperature and pressure is, temperature is directly proportional to the pressure.that means if volume of a container having some particles in it, is constant then, increase in temperature also cause increase in pressure and vice-versa.

T ∝ P

Relation between temperature and pressure with Graph

Suppose we have a glass container having constant volume, as shown in above fig. Now, if we heat this glass container, then the temperature increases due to increase in temperature of glass particles inside the container and also particles start vibrating fast so the pressure also increases. but if we cool the container the temperature suddenly falls down and glass particles also slow down due to this, pressure of the container decreases. by this experiment of pressure and temperature we know that there is directly relation between temperature and pressure.

Now, for further explanation we plot a graph between temperature and pressure.

Pressure vs Temperature graph

Relation between temperature and pressure with Graph

The above given picture shown the graph of relation between temperature and pressure. as we can see if we increase the pressure the temperature also increases constantly. In the initial stage the pressure is 1200 pascal and temperature is 50℃ but when pressure increases to 1400 pascal then temperature also increases to 100℃. then 1600 pascal also 150℃ and so on.

Therefore, we conclude by plotting graph between temperature and pressure is temperature and pressure are directly related to each other. as temperature increase pressure also increase and vice-versa.
so we can also say that pressure vs temperature graph shows the directly relationship between pressure and temperature.
