Can God Control Time?

Can God Control Time? A Scientific View from Indian Scriptures and Einstein’s Theory

What do Indian scriptures say about time?

Indian scriptures like the Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, and epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata don’t treat time as something fixed or constant. In fact, they describe time as something that flows differently for different beings.

For example:

  • Brahma Ji, the creator in Hinduism, experiences time differently. His one day equals 4.32 billion human years, and his one night is equally long. This means a blink of his eye could mean millions of years passing on Earth.
  • Narad Muni, a divine sage, travels across dimensions in seconds. That means he’s not bound by normal time like we are.
  • Pushpak Vimana, the flying vehicle in Ramayana, could travel at the speed of thought, which means even faster than light — something science still dreams of.

This all hints that time is relative, not absolute — and this is exactly what modern physics discovered thousands of years later.

What did Albert Einstein discover about time?

In 1905, Einstein introduced the Special Theory of Relativity. According to it:

  • Time is not constant — it depends on your speed and the gravity around you.
  • The faster you move, the slower time becomes for you.
  • Near strong gravity fields (like black holes), time moves slower.
  • This is called Time Dilation — a proven scientific fact.

In simple words:
Your clock and someone else’s clock may tick at different speeds depending on your motion and position in space-time.

Now compare that to what Brahma Ji’s time shows — isn’t it exactly the same?

Is there any proof of time travel in Indian mythology?

Yes! Indian mythology has several stories that clearly point toward time travel and relativity:

  • In the Mahabharata, King Kakudmi and his daughter Revati travel to meet Lord Brahma. When they return, thousands of years have passed on Earth.
  • In Yoga Vasishta, time is described as an illusion and the soul is said to be beyond time and space.
  • Ancient sages who practiced Siddhis (spiritual powers) were said to control time, move instantly, or slow down their aging.

This matches the idea that beings in higher dimensions experience time differently — a concept modern scientists are just beginning to explore.

Can God really control time?

From both spiritual and scientific perspectives, the answer is yes.

  • God or higher beings, as described in Indian texts, don’t live in 3D space like us. They operate from higher dimensions, where time is not linear.
  • Just like a 3D human can see an entire 2D drawing at once, a 4D being can see all of time — past, present, and future — at once.
  • This is why gods in scriptures can appear anytime, know everything, and change the flow of time.

Final Thoughts

Thousands of years ago, Indian sages had already written concepts of time relativity, dimensional travel, and invisibility in spiritual form. Einstein gave it a scientific language.

Both paths — science and spirituality — are finally meeting. And maybe, just maybe, we’re slowly unlocking the same cosmic knowledge our ancestors already knew.
